Does Trendelenburg come standard on our chairs?
No, not everyone needs or wants the Trend feature, so we provide it as an option that you can add to your Standard or Bariatric recliner. Top
Does my recliner have a quick release seat?
Yes, if you recliner was fabricated after March 1999 it does have a quick release seat. This has been a standard feature of every recliner since that time. Top
How does the quick release seat work?
- Lock the front casters of the chair. Release the footrest and push the chair back into the full recline position.
- Locate thumb screws under the front two corners of the chair seat. These screws will be bright yellow (or black on older model recliners).
- Remove the screws ad place the chair back into the full, upright position by first lifting the seat-back fully upright and then pushing the leg rest back down against the chair firmly until it latches.
- Standing in front of the chair, lift the seat front slightly and pull the seat toward you, pulling it out like a drawer. Once the seat is removed, you have full access to the inside of the chair for cleaning and maintenance.
- When you are finished, replace the seat by setting it back on the mechanism, making sure that the metal clip on each side of the seat bottom is under the flange on the mechanism. Slide the seat back into the chair. Make sure the bolts on the front corners of the seat are seated in the holes in the mechanism and replace the thumb screws to secure the seat. Top
No, we do not advise that the recliner or frame is power-washed. Top
What is the weight capacity of my recliner?
Standard recliners have a 300# patient weight capacity. Bariatric recliners have a 500# patient weight capacity. Standard size recliners are marked with a red "capacity" label on the bottom of the frame (in the back of the recliner) located by Champion's serial number. Top
Is my recliner under warranty?
All recliners are sold with a warranty. Please contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-998-5018 for details regarding your specific recliner. Top
How do I specify a recliner by model number or "series" number?
What are you looking for? Narrow down your search this way to find the recliner that best suits your needs. Go to the "MEDICAL RECLINERS" navigation button located at the top of the page and make your selection based on Standard or Bariatric recliners, then by Manual recline or Power recline. The model/series numbers available for those particular selections will be on the landing page of your last selection. Contact your local Champion representative or us here at Corporate and say you'd like to order a custom "54" or "54 Series" (for example) and we can help you choose the options and accessories that will work the best for your needs. First, please locate the serial number of your custom recliner which is located in the back of the chair, towards the bottom, on the left-hand side of the frame. You will need the serial number to order replacement parts. After you have the serial number, please contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-998-5018 (Pat Cooper @ x227 or Nancy LaPierre @ x253). Top

How do I deploy the Trendelenburg option?
To deploy "Trend", patient must be in full recline position (if seated, release the footrest actuator located on the outside of either side of the arms of the recliner. This will bring the patient's feet up. From there, push the back of the recliner down using either the push handle located in the back or by simply applying pressure to the back of the recliner near the patient's head). Pull and hold the trend lever, which is located on the back of the recliner near the patient's head. Lower the chair back to the desired position while holding the trend lever. (Please note that if you choose to use a "partial" trend position instead of full trend, you must trend all the way down to the "full" trend position prior to elevating the patient back into the TV position.)
To release patient back into the full recline position from Trend, depress the latch and gently pull the seat back up into the recline/TV position. Top
Where can I find the serial number of my chair?
The serial number of your recliner can be located in the back of the chair, down towards the back left caster, on the metal frame. Look for the "Champion" label...the serial number is located just below our name. Top
